EMPIRE TOTAL WAR DARTH MOD INSTALL
I decided to give it another go a few days ago and made a point to install a few mods to see which ones were better, as I was looking to spice things up a bit. I love the vanilla game but I really thought it lacked depth.Empire might not be one of the most recent Total War titles, but it’s still a fan-favorite among many players (including myself).Įmpire was an iconic title that brought us countless days of joy as well as rage thanks to its toxic online community(which game isn’t) and extremely fun gameplay. In my humblepotato opinion, I think darthmod really made empire one of the best total wars, and beats vanilla 10 out of 10 times. Overall I thought DM really breathed life in empire and made campaigns infinitely more manageable. I like choice, if you don't, choose the vanilla line. I really dislike in Napoleon how for some factions there are only a few options for infantry and France and Britain have tons. It's crowded but being spoiled for choice never bothered me. Someone already said it, but it's a issue in vanilla too. Switched to DM early and killed them before 1750, or if I played as someone in the west, I funded Russia and Austria. It was the most frustrating thing about vanilla CAI. BAI is similar, slightly better I think, but similar I will grant you, but before DM I never had anyone launch an invasion by sea. Here I hate to be confrontational but I plainly disagree. I agree, but naval power unless your GB is pretty easy to live without. If I left a region for 2 turns undefended early game, you will be attacked by 2 units of trash infantry, and without the mortars you would lose most of your settlements on VH/VH in about 4 turns. If you played as a country like Russia you'd learn to understand that the mortars are vital.
EMPIRE TOTAL WAR DARTH MOD FULL
I have pretty massive battles (ultra w/ 2-4 full stacks without crashing DM or vanilla) also you should save ALWAYS. I have yet to have a crashing problem with the game, I got it a year after release and have ~1900 hours on it (1500) Darthmod. Behind the pretty effects there changes aren't all that deep.

I just don't think people should ignore the fun had in Vanilla as well. The visuals I must say are quite nice, and so is the sound. I think it's pretty cool to play and check it out.

Way too many single units to choose I cant organize it well. Units running through each other in melee. You know, the one where it repeatedly takes 15 minutes for them to take a turn. The only difference I see is friendly diplomacy boost, and in battle they form lines sooner because of the increased range, which falls apart once the battle has commenced anyway so it doesn't matter that much. It really doesn't behave much different on darthmod, at all. Once you have a strong navy there is nothing your enemies can do against you as you can travel to their capitals and blockade all ports in a single turn. IF you've played prussia, you'd know that loading tons of battles gets exhausting.ĭecreased sea travel time makes navies overpowered. This is particularly annoying when Auto-resolving because it always favors the army with artillery, meaning I can march an decent-sized army into an empty city and still lose to the autoresolve. Nothing like finally executing that general and luckily spawning gentleman and fighting battle across the world just to crash and lose your savegame.Īll cities are automatically defended with mortars, even in early period when they havent been invented. At first I was really into the mod, but having gone back and fourth, I still think Vanilla is a more solid experience.
